Only two months to go

With only two months to go until opening night, planning for the 2009 Sydney Film Festival is in full swing.

Our new-look teaser site launched today, boasting exciting new features including our very own ticketing system.

This site will be the place to come for tickets, program info, latest news, interviews and competitions.

13 May – Full program revealed

2009 passes on sale now

Pre-purchase your tickets to the 2009 Sydney Film Festival so you’re all set when the program launches.

FlexiPass

A FlexiPass is a great way to experience the festival. Choose a FlexiPass for 10, 20, or 30 admissions, and you can redeem them online as soon as the program launches in May for any regular session at any festival venue. Click here to buy your FlexiPass now through our new online ticketing system. You will also be able to manage your passes and choose your films online when the full program is launched.

Festival subscription

For our dedicated film afiçionados we are again offering festival subscriptions, which guarantee entry to over 30 screenings at the State Theatre from Thursday 4 June until Sunday 14 June.

Choose between either a daytime or evening subscription, and whether you would like to sit in the stalls or mezzanine levels. You can also indicate your seating preference on the booking form, and if you are renewing your 2008 subscription we will hold your seat for you. The deadline for 2009 subscriptions is 1 May.

Win tickets to Tulpan

Thanks to Palace Films, we have tickets to giveaway to a special SFF screening of Sergey Dvortsevoy's astonishing debut comedy, Tulpan.

Crazy camels, dust storms and days spent chasing wayward sheep; this is the life of a shepherd on the bleak and windswept Kazakh steppes – and it is all young Asa dreams about.

After completing his naval service, Asa travels back to the Hunger steppe where his sister and her shepherd husband live a nomadic life. Although eager to care for a flock of his own, Asa is told he must get married before he can become a fully-fledged shepherd.
